Dawn Until Dusk Adam Plack & Johnny (White Ant) Soames, Ku-Ku Yalanji & Ku-Ku Imaji Tribes The Didgeridoo (didjeridu) is a Euro-Australian name for the sacred Aboriginal wind instrument shaped naturally by termites from a Eucalyptus tree. Some of the more popular Aboriginal names for this instrument are Yaraki, Yidaki, Magu, Kanbi and Ihambilbilg. The Didgeridoo is used for sacred ceremony called corroboree. This ceremony is for tribal people only. However, Aboriginal people have shared this instrument outside the tribe on a recreational level in much the same way as they would teach their uninitiated boys. Recreational playing teaches us to study nature, learning to imitate or capture the spirit of the Australian landscape and its inhabitants while learning a greater respect for mother nature. All Didgeridoo totems on this album are contemporary studies taken from the Australian Bush and its unique spirit and wildlife. All songs are the heritage of the Ku-Ku Imaji and Ku-Ku Yalanji people of Northern Queens land.

Songman Nomad and the Ramingining Songmen In Australia, a Songman is a revered tribal member who is the custodian of the songs and stories of the Dreamtime, which are not written but are passed down orally from generation to generation. Aboriginal statesman David Gulpilil invited Nomad/Plack to Arnhem Land to live, write and record music together under the stars. With tribal elder approval, which permitted the public performance of these songs, Plack was able to translate tribal chants into English and create new songs that retained the spirit and intention of the original language while allowing us to understand the message. Songman was recorded on Aboriginal land within the community of Ramingining in Arnhem Land, Australia and features the hypnotic didgeridoo and vocals of Australian composer/producer Nomad/Plack, along with tribal chants by Aboriginal Songmen, the multi-talented dancer/actor, David Gulpilil (Walkabout, Crocodile Dundee, Storm Boy, The Last Wave), Bobby Bunnungurr and Jimmy Jidamin. The result is a fresh and evocative blend of ancient voice and rhythms that, along with the catchiest grooves, succinctly captures the essence of contemporary, cultural Australia.
